HELOYSE was conceptualized in 2012 in New York Soho by Rie Mine.
Inspired by the free-spirited vibe of New York,
she came up with the signature butterfly bag, which symbolizes the spirit of wings.
Encouraged by amazing feedbacks from New Yorkers,
she created her brand HELOYSE and started to develop
the business shortly after her return to Tokyo.
Her untraditional and playful design aesthetic established a unique
footprint in the tote handbag market,
where styling offers are often with simple details.
Rie designs iconic bags to elevate one's personality and bring happiness.
HELOYSE signature styles -voluminous yet structured silhouettes
and imaginative use of different fabrics -
are well received as statement pieces and build strong followers.
and they are at the core of who we are.
We strive to commit to these values across all of our work around the world.
Rie Mine is a graduate of Vantan Design Institute in Tokyo.
She started as a swimwear designer at Sanai in Japan.
After Sanai, she worked for Cole of California and Bendigo for 15 years.
She took a couple of years off raising her kids and launched HELOYSE
with her three friends after returning from NY.
Her first collection was picked up by one of the major department stores in Tokyo
and immediately offered an exclusive deal.
In addition to the traditional apparel retail shops,
Heloyse is loved by buyers from the art world(museum shops, TENOHA MILANO, etc).
Our brand philosophy is " Bring the bright future to the present. " To us,
a bright future signifies our products, people,
and societies involved with production infrastructure.
As we develop our business globally,
we aim to set up design studios and manufacturing factories
in the distributed regions to collaborate and grow the business with local communities.
We are looking to partnerships with domestic and international NPO
and organizations that share the same point of view to help
the local community and business growth.
